How Much Does it Cost to Register a Company?
Comments
Prices are hiking across the country, and Companies House are no exception. Discover the latest on incorporation fee increases, filing costs, and more!

Recently, after their annual review, Companies House announced that they would be increasing their fees. This came as a shock to many people and businesses as these fees were increased by over 100%, making it less affordable for individuals to start a company or even file their annual returns to Companies House. In February 2024, it was announced that these changes would come into effect 1st May 2024—which meant there was only mere months for people to get things in order before the change was implemented.

Each year Companies House review their fees to ensure that they are set at the right level. Their fees are set based on a ‘cost recovery basis’—meaning that their fees must cover the costs of their services, however, they do not make a profit from what they charge.

As a result, this means we have had to increase our fees to cover the costs of filing to Companies House. Please continue reading to view the new prices.

Costs to Incorporate a Company Through Easy Digital Company

We offer many services for companies, including incorporation of either a limited company or a limited liability partnership, a registered address or business address service, confirmation statements, and more!

Below is a breakdown of the services we offer at Easy Digital Company and the associated costs.

PackagePriceDescription
Company Formation£54.99
  • It covers the cost of the incorporation application, which includes the actual registration of your company on the Companies House website, and an emailed copy of your company’s certificate of incorporation.
  • This package includes the incorporation of either a limited company or a limited liability partnership.
Pre-submission Quality Check£4.99
  • This is an optional add-on to the Company Formation package, where we will check through the details of your incorporation application (such as the chosen company name) to ensure that it complies with the guidelines from Companies House and to avoid any errors which may cause it to be rejected.
Company Registered Address£59.99
  • This package includes a company registered address, meaning that your company will be registered at our prestigious Central London address.
  • The company's registered address is publicly visible on the Companies House registrar for anyone to access, so this package offers the company directors more privacy and protection, as it will keep their residential address off the registrar.
  • Further to privacy, it also offers a mail service, meaning any documents that HMRC or Companies House send to your company would be sent to our address, where we will then scan and upload them to your online mail portal, which you can access through your Easy Digital Company account.
Business Address£79.99
  • This is an add-on to the Company Registered Address package, and includes all non-statutory business mail, meaning that anything sent to us is added to your mail portal, whether it is from HMRC, or just relating to your business.
  • This is useful if you are looking to create a more professional image as you can use this address on your business cards, website, etc., and anything sent to us with be promptly scanned and uploaded for you to view.
  • Please note that this package is not sold separately, and can only be purchased with the Company Registered Address package.
Closing Down Protection£39.99
  • This is another add-on service which offers your company closing down protection, meaning that if you decide that you no longer require your company and wish to close it, we will sort that out for you by filing the necessary forms.
  • It is important to note that this service is valid for 12 months after purchasing.
Confirmation Statement (Managed Filing)£67.99
  • This package is where one of our Accounts Specialists will file your company's first confirmation statement (which is an annual requirement by Companies House for all companies) for you.
  • We will complete the filing for you and submit the return once you have approved the information.

I'm Interested! How Do I Sign Up?

Just head to our Easy Digital Company website to get started! You should be able to see a tab on the top of your screen which says ‘Pricing’—here you can view the packages that we offer and what is included. Scroll down the page to see a box with the heading ‘Register your company name below to proceed to checkout’. This is our company name availability checker! Simply input your chosen company name to see if it is available to use in real-time, or if it has already been taken by another company. If the name is available, you can click on the ‘Register this company’ button below it, to proceed to the package selection page.

Once you have selected your chosen products and successfully made your payment, you will need to enter or upload your information on the appropriate pages to proceed. This is required so that we can complete AML checks, which are mandated by Companies House (for more information about this, please feel free to take a look at our article called What are AML Checks for Company Incorporation? from our Knowledge Base).

After the AML checks have been successfully completed, your incorporation application will be submitted to Companies House where it can take anywhere from an hour to a couple of days to be accepted. Once it has been accepted, your company will be added to the Companies House registrar and you will officially be the director of a new company! From there, it is your responsibility as director to stay informed on filing requirements, such as the annual accounts submission to Companies House, or the submission of your company’s annual tax returns to HMRC. If you’re struggling to understand the various requirements, it might be useful to take a look at our article What Returns does a Company Need to Make Each Year?—and you can always give our customer service team a call!

Furthermore, you can file your returns through Easy Digital Filing, which is our online software that specialises in the filing of returns to HMRC and Companies House, either through our self-filing packages (where you complete the returns yourself using our comprehensive filing templates), or through our managed filing packages (where we would complete and submit the returns for you, upon your approval).

Hopefully after reading this article, you will gain more of an insight into the different types of services we offer and how much it costs to form your own company!
